I love the cover and it makes me think that the drawings must have been on point too. I do so agree with you when you say "It is rare to find young adult books with a diverse set of white and black character without it feeling like the author is being stereotypical." How often I've felt this! It is indeed refreshing to read a book that steps out of the conventional casting we have grown to accept and addresses issues like racial discrimination.
